    Dairy farming boom increases water pollution, report

    A report released today by an independent Commissioner for the Environment says there is a direct link between expanding dairy farming and increase stress on water quality. But it’s an issue that all NZers need to think about. The report says that dairy farming is expanding and with that, the water quality is affected. Although farmers are doing what they can to mitigate the effects, it still isn’t enough. And without more intervention, the country will continue to see an on-going deterioration in water quality. The Government says it’s on the right track to clean up the water but it will take a while.
